Audio postcards from Herzegovina

Herzegovina is a region with lots of biodiversity and cultural similarities and differences. Through six unique sound postcards, young people presented the cultural heritage of five Herzegovinian cities that were once connected by the narrow-gauge railway route Mostar - Trebinje.

The aim of the project was to find out how young people hear and feel their home cities through discussion. The project involved 45 young people from Mostar, Čapljina, Stolac, Ljubinje and Trebinje, five cities in Herzegovina that were once connected by the narrow-gauge railway route Mostar-Trebinje.

The project also involved field work and a joint excursion to various locations along the railway route, as well as a visit to the Vjetrenica cave and the Orthodox monastery in Zavala.

On this occasion, the participants of the project recorded the sounds of the places, with the final product beingsix audio postcards of each city individually and one common audio postcard of Herzegovina.

The project has enabled youth mobility and reconciliation of Herzegovinian towns on both sides of the entity border, acquaintance with cultural richness of the Herzegovinian region as well as the techniques of recording and processing of sound.

The audio postcards were also broadcasted on Abraš Radio.
